Breakup & Reinvention: Making the Hard Decision at 33

Hi, I’m Yu-Han! Welcome to my very first episode. I want to share a major turning point in my life and how it led me to personal growth and self-reinvention.

In September 2024, I made one of the hardest decisions of my life: I ended a 4.5 years relationship with my partner. We had even bought a home together and tried relationship therapy for years, but our core values were too different. Staying together would have meant compromising who I truly am. To guide my decision, I asked myself: If I were 50 years old, would I regret this? The answer made everything clear: separation was the right choice.

This breakup became the starting point of my personal and spiritual reinvention journey. Since then, I’ve been focusing on building a life aligned with my values and passions:

  • Food Blogging and Side Hustle: I launched Bubble Foodex! to share my love for cooking, create new recipes, and explore my passion for food. It’s also helping me develop a new income stream and learn valuable skills in blogging, photography, and content creation.

  • Fitness and Wellness: I started weight training at home to improve posture and strengthen my back and shoulders. By starting small and celebrating progress, I’ve built a consistent fitness routine that supports my physical and mental health.

  • Better Sleep and Daily Routine: Gradually adjusting my sleep schedule has improved my energy, focus, and productivity. Small, consistent changes are key to long-term habits and overall well-being.

Of course, the journey isn’t without challenges. I sometimes worry about whether people will like my recipes, whether my English accent will bother listeners, or if I can truly thrive as a single person. But each time, I remind myself: Will my future self regret this choice? The answer always helps me stay confident and move forward.

Key Takeaways from My Journey:

  • Hard life decisions become clearer when guided by your future self.

  • Personal growth and spiritual development happen through everyday challenges.

  • Small, consistent steps lead to meaningful change in life, wellness, and creativity.

  • Vulnerability is part of growth—trust yourself and your journey.

I’m sharing this story to remind you: You are not alone. Every step you take to heal, grow, or follow your passions matters. My hope is that my journey inspires you to trust yourself, embrace change, and take small steps toward the life you want.
